The new Mozilla milestone has got a problem with the embeded RealPlayer. I wrote a web page where the realplayer ist embeded and a .rpm file is assigned to the src property. Now, I tracked down the bug: 1. If the .rpm file resides, along with the media file, one folder hierarchie deeper in a folder called "media", the src loosk like this: "media\testmedia.rpm". The .rpm itself goes: file://testmedia.rm This works fine within milestone 0.9.5, but in 0.9.6 the RealPlayer generates a general error (no further description available). 2. If the .rpm file resides in the same folder as the html page, it all works fine in 0.9.5 and 0.9.6. In this case the src property ist "testmedia.rpm" and the .rpm says "file//media/testmedia.rm". So, my guess is it has got something to do with the way mozilla passes the parameters to the embeded player.
Created attachment 60612 [details] Short demonstration html and rpm files for bug 113563 The demonstration files are packed in a zip file. Please extract the files with exactly the same pathes as you see them in the zip file. Try the html files with 0.9.6 and 0.9.5. With the latest milestone, the RealPlayer generates an error when displaying 'videotest-rpm one folder below.html'.
Conrfirming on WinXP. Realplayer says it can't find this file: /media%5Cvideotest.rpm Looks like we are encoding the / needlessly.

changing '\' to '/' in "videotest-rpm one folder below.html" resolves this problem: -<PARAM NAME="src" VALUE="media\videotest.rpm"> -<EMBED SRC="media\videotest.rpm" type="audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin" CONSOLE="Cl ip1" CONTROLS="ImageWindow" HEIGHT=144 WIDTH=176 AUTOSTART=false> +<PARAM NAME="src" VALUE="media/videotest.rpm"> +<EMBED SRC="./media/videotest.rpm" type="audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin" CONSOLE=" Clip1" CONTROLS="ImageWindow" HEIGHT=144 WIDTH=176 AUTOSTART=false> is '\' valid url delimiter?
