Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 Iceweasel/31.4.0 Build ID: 20150113105201 Steps to reproduce: Have set Master password to manage the saved credentials. Actual results: Having a password manager set, when opening the client and also Mozilla Firefox it's very easy to confuse the two, it would be better if Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird would prompt "Firefox - Password Required" and "Thunderbird - Password Required" respectively. Expected results: I usually open (by top menu bar) thunderbird and mozilla almost immediately since the icon shortcuts are next to each other.

With IceDove 31.4.0 on Debian Wheezy 64bit.

We did a patch on Lightning dealing with a similar issue (bug 1110881) and I got jcranmer to address a similar issue in the OAuth patch for gmail. I agree with the OP that we should not be putting up dialogs or windows asking for credentials without a clear title describing exactly why we need that. I also find it easy to confuse Thunderbird windows with Firefox windows.

aceman, didn't you do something to identify account name? Can you also do this?

Master password is a different beast. The prompt comes from toolkit and apparently it is hard to fix this. See bug 306730.
