Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0
Build ID: 20150122214805

Steps to reproduce:

Add a new bookmarklet in Firefox, e.g. add a bookmark with the following URL (Location): "javascript:alert("Hello%20World!");void(0)"

Add a keyword to this bookmark, e.g. "foo".

Open the bookmark on Firefox for Android using the keyword by typing "foo" into the address bar. Hit "Go".

Actual results:

A blank page is displayed, but JavaScript in the bookmarklet is not executed.

Expected results:

JavaScript in bookmarklet should be executed.

Note: If the bookmarklet is activated by opening the bookmark in the bookmark-menu the JavaScript code is executed as expected.
Note: Keywords stored for normal URLs work fine in Firefox for Android.
Do we even support Bookmarklets?
OS: Mac OS X → Android

I reproduce with Firefox 49 under Android 6.0.1 (CyanogenMod 13.0). Firefox. But it's a little different: Firefox's search in the address bar don't use keyword but only tittle of the website.
Hi,

The URL is not available anymore. Can you provide a similar one to test?

Thanks!

The URL still works. It's not a "normal" URL, it's JavaScript since it's a Bookmarklet. It works as expecged in Firefox Desktop and when opening the Bookmarklet in Firefox Mobile by selecting the Bookmark from the bookmark menu. However, it does not work after typing the corresponding keyword into the address bar and hitting Go/Enter/etc. Currently the keyword is simply not recognized and interpreted as a search string. Tested again with Firefox 61.0 on Android.

Opening other bookmarks by typing the keyword works as well as to open the Bookmarklet via the bookmark menu. It's the combination of both features which does not work.

Hi,

Unfortunately, Firefox for Android doesn't support Bookmarklets.

Thanks for the report, but I will close this issue as INVALID.
