Attached image Firefox Tab Groups.png
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build ID: 20150122214805 Steps to reproduce: I have 4 different tab groups, each with 7-25 open tabs. I do a lot of work in a tab group with just work related tabs open. But when I close a tab, it frequently switches to my "fun" tab group. I also have a pinned tab which, of course, is in all tab groups. I'm not sure if this would affect anything, but I figured it's worth mentioning. It doesn't happen every time. But it happens very frequently. Multiple times a day, as I open and close tabs. Actual results: I close a tab in my "Work" (actually "BoltEngine" in the screenshot) tab group and suddenly I'm switched to the first open tab in my "Fun" tab group. Also note that while I have been spending most of my time in the "BoltEngine" tab group lately, this happens in any of the other tab groups. I frequently get changed from one tab group to the "Fun" tab group. Expected results: I should stay in the same Tab Group and just open the next available tab within the same group.
Is it not the tab you've been on before opening the tab you close? Is it not the last tab in the group? Do you have extensions related to tabs, tab groups, tab switching? Can you try in Safe mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode ?

(In reply to [:Aleksej] from comment #1) > Is it not the tab you've been on before opening the tab you close? I mean just "before switching to the tab you close".
(In reply to [:Aleksej] from comment #1) > Is it not the tab you've been on [just before switching to] the tab you close? No. If you look at the screenshot I included, I'm usually in the "Bolt Engine" tab group. Either on the Jabbr tab, or on the pinned IRCCloud tab. Often in IRCCloud, someone will paste a link with some source code or images, I'll click it to look. It will open a new tab between the pinned IRCCloud and the Jabbr tab. Then when I'm done looking at the source code or image, I close the tab, and it takes me to the first tab of the "Fun" tab group, even if I've never used that tab or tab group this session. > Is it not the last tab in the group? It is not the last tab in the group. As described, I have about 7 tabs opened in the "Bolt Engine" tab group, plus the pinned IRCCloud tab. Then I open a new tab (or more), making 9+ tabs in the "Bolt Engine" tab group. Then I close one of them and suddenly I'm looking at the "Fun" tab group. > Do you have extensions related to tabs, tab groups, tab switching? I do not believe I have any extensions related to tabs, tab groups, or tab switching. Here are my extensions: Adblock Plus 2.6.7 Adblock Plus Filter Uploader 2.1 Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon 0.9.2 All-in-One Gestures 0.26 LastPass 3.1.54 NoScript 2.6.9.15 Offline QR generator 1.1 SSL Version Control 0.4 > Can you try in Safe mode > https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode ? Hmm... After testing for about an hour, I have been unable to reproduce the issue in Safe Mode. Yet in the "regular" mode, I can get it to happen pretty reliably within the first few tabs I close. In fact, I think I've discovered how to make it happen every single time now. 1. Open a link from the pinned IRCCloud tab. (Browser switches to new tab immediately.) 2. Switch to non-pinned tab within same tab group. 3. Switch back to "newly" opened tab and then close it. 4. Find myself suddenly in different tab group. As shown here: http://youtu.be/vYTNDDlabFE But in Safe Mode, Firefox pretty reliably takes me to one of the tabs within the same tab group. Usually the one just to its right. Disabling extensions one at a time until the behavior stopped leads me to the conclusion that All-in-One Gestures was the culprit. All other extensions have been re-enabled and my previously 100% reliable method to duplicate the issue no longer duplicates the issue. It's been years since I actually used All-In-One Gestures, so I forgot about its tab-switching features, as I mostly only used the gestures to quickly navigate back and forward through history. Thanks for the help. My issue is resolved.
