the uplift showed a ts,paint regression on win7 which is a shock. In fact this is because we had a gain on beta (v.36) and then went back to normal when we uplifted: http://graphs.mozilla.org/graph.html#tests=[[83,52,25],[83,53,25]]&sel=1423121890934.9053,1424577464978.1665,672.1311475409836,803.2786885245902&displayrange=30&datatype=geo this falls into 2 patches which landed to give us the ts, paint improvement: https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-beta/pushloghtml?changeset=7c472ea5e3b3 Both patches appeared to be beta only changes, can we figure out which patch is the winner for an improvement? Once we figure that out, I would like to determine if we should land on beta/aurora/central.

The most likely culprit is the d2d disabling. Milan, can you comment on that? If it isn't can you needinfo callek about the vs2010 build change that callek did?
Flags: needinfo?(milan)
I can believe D2D 1.1 disable slowed things down. We are planning on re-enabling that, we just have some correctness questions to answer. I think we can file this under "explained and OK for now"; Bas, am I way off base here?
Flags: needinfo?(milan) → needinfo?(bas)

ok, this looks to be expected then! Thanks for clarifying the state of d2d :)
