Responding to a couple of comments from 112710. Also please see bug 75538 for the ongoing revision of the browser and mail context menus. > * Also, Microsoft has deemed this important enough to put into their mail > context menu. I'm not taking them as the measure, but they are at least making > popular mail clients. Microsoft has repeatedly demonstrated that they don't have any UI design standards. Just because they do something is not a reason for us to copy them. > * Additionally, why is there a "View source" in the context menu of HTML pages? > It would make even more sense with mail messages, which could contain possibly > harmful HTML, Javascript or (hopefully not too soon) Mozilla virii. If you look at bug 75538, there hopefully won't be a View Source context menu item in the browser. I agree that this is a useful function, but can easily be accomplished with a View > Message Source menu item, instead of cluttering up the context menu. > * Large context menus are, in my opinion, as good to use as small ones; Heh. Try telling that to mpt! The basic argument here is that as the number of items in a context menu increases, its usefulness decreases due to the amount of time it takes to scan and recognize each item when searching for a command.
