1. Go to settings for the first time.
2. Select "Display" option which is found under the Personalization section. 
3. Observe the value of "Adjust Automatically".

We purposely have it off because the adjust automatically is oversensitive.

According to comment #1 in bug 1020106, the feature is off by default.
