Details

Similar to bug 862998 and bug 1063698 that allow whitelisted Mozilla domains to trigger an action in the browser chrome, we would like to have the same ability for the default browser prompt. The use-case is either www.mozilla.org or support.mozilla.org to give a user a one-click ability to set Firefox as default if it is not currently set as default. The website would have to be able to talk via an API to the product to see if Firefox is set as default and if it is not, provide an ability for the website to have a user action (clicking a button) set it as default OR open the preferences menu to click Preferences > General tab.
