This is merely one symptom:  "Compose in html" checkbox is ignored when
un-checked--always comes back checked no matter how many times I un-
check it.  Messages always post in html.

Mail and News account preferences dialog box sometimes just hangs when
trying to save changes to account preferences.  I believe this is due
to corruption/parsing problems in prefs.js.

I eventually wound up deleting my ~/.mozilla and starting from scratch.
Problem still exists.

This problem just appeared on 12-05 for the first time.
