From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:0.9.6) Gecko/20011120
BuildID: 2001112009

On the webpage of http://www.ffobsession.com/ which is the main page on the
site, there are two distinctive lines which aren't supposed to be found in the
layout title bar when viewed. These two lines can't be seen in Netscape
communicator 4.79 however in any Mozilla based engine most noticably Netscape
6.2 and Mozilla 0.9.6. they appear but aren't supposed too.

The very first line appears in this .jpg file
http://www.ffobsession.com/layout/3-2.jpg just underneath the bottom lip of the
young girl in the title bar. The next line appears here
http://www.ffobsession.com/layout/4.jpg at the shoulder level.

When viewed in Internet Explorer the lines do not appear, yet when using the
JAVA console nothing came up. Can someone get a testcase of the entire
layout.jpg file at the top to demonstrate both lines? Hopefully then another
test case showing the layout bar in Internet explorer could be taken to display
how it is supposed to look. The layout bar uses individual pictures but
hopefully someone can get the whole thing

When e-mailing the webmaster about this last time the site was much worse but
for some reason the two lines couldn't be fixed.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.ffobsession.com/

2. Notice the right corner of the two .jpg files that there are two lines
running through the layout.jpg files

3.
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

=> Standards mode layout. Either remove the DOCTYPE or the URI from the DOCTYPE
or make the images display:block

Thomas, can you contact the webmaster and let him know about this? See
http://mozilla.org/docs/web-developer/quirks/doctypes.html for more information.

I have contacted the webmaster about this already including everything you
posted about DOCtype and yet he doesn't respond. He has posted updates to his
sites but doesn't seem to care about the two lines on the two.jpg files.
Thomas, ok. Let's give him until January and follow up with him again. If he
still won't respond we can mark it wontfix. Is this site important to you?

I like this site a lot and more importantly feel the Mozilla/Netscape browser
should be able to display everysite as the webmaster designed it to be. No not
everytime is that possible but I would like to see those two lines dissapeared.
I have contacted him once again this time at his new E Mail address
RobMcDougall@ffobsession.com

If in January he doesn't reply then yes mark it won't fix as there are more
important bugs that the staff needs to work on and I do also want to see
Mozilla's 1.0 milestone be very succesful. And thanks for making the corrections
to some Tech evangelism products I reported as it has helped me improve the way
I report things.
Hello, I am Rob McDougall, owner and webmaster of FF Obsession. I thank you for
reporting the error, unfortunatly with the Holiday season, the semister near
its end, and the such I have not had much time for the site. This will be
attended to. I am glad to see the number of Netscape users that hit the site
and increase am quite angry at myself for not fixing this sooner as I want the
site to be properly viewable by the largest audience possible, including users
of Netscape on Windows, 'Nix, et all. I applaud Netscape 6's stricter following
of HTML standards and the Mozilla project (open source good, shared source
bad). Again, I want to thank you for not only reporting this, but also
providing the fix.
Thanks Rob! Your comments made my day!, let's follow up in Feb.
Target Milestone: Jan → Feb
Bclary thanks so much for providing the fix. Yes I did report the problem and
also sent it to Rob but had it not been for your fix this wouldn't be possible.
I have already learned so much from this Mozilla open end source, and can't
thank the Netscape team enough.

Rob it's great to see you back. My apologies for all the-emails that I sent you
but I am a big Final Fantasy fan and just wanted to see the site as compatible
with Netscape/Mozilla as possible.

Thank you both.

In viewing the website with Mozilla build 2002111508 in the 2002 home updated
version of Windows XP service pack 1, the problem has been fixed. I went to the
site and now a redirect takes the viewer to the messageboard where the graphic
displays perfectly. Setting to fixed.
