User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Mobile; rv:37.0) Gecko/37.0 Firefox/37.0 Build ID: 20150302192416 Steps to reproduce: Get on website which lists videos for ex. Youtube and tapped on play button in video frame Actual results: Immediately after tapping, on video frame appeared loading symbol. In same time device (Samsung GT-i9060) started heavily lagging for a moment (approx 25 sec). Afterwards, loading symbol disappeared, screen on video frame turned black while sound begin to run properly. Expected results: Video frame should display correct image. Device shouldn't lagging in time of the process.
ADDITIONAL INFO: -The bug seems specific to firefox as videos work fine and smoothly on the default device browser and Google Chrome. -There weren't any issues in FF35 stadard version -It is replicable also on freshly reinstalled FF36 standard edition. -Changes in hardware/software acceleartion (media.stagefright.omxcodec.flags) in about:config doesn't seem to alleviate problem. - Probably it is specific to h264/MP4 as on the http://people.mozilla.org/~atrain/mobile/tests/media.html VP9/webm works w/o issues in contrast to all listed h264/MP4 videos.

Would you mind testing on Nightly? This bug appears to be specific to your device, but there were some recent fixes made there.

Just tested on Nighlty edition and unfortunately same issue there.

Changing 'media.mediasource.enabled' value to 'true' on FF37.02b configuration page completely resolved problem.
After more extensive research I conclude that problem is still present on dailymotion.com/vimeo.com and test page from people.mozilla site mentioned above even after disabling 'media.mediasource.youtubeonly'. It
Its absent on youtube embeds and dircetly on the YouTube site.
I'm also having this problem with Firefox 36.0.1 on Android 4.2.2. On http://people.mozilla.org/~atrain/mobile/tests/media.html I can only play the VP9/webm video correctly, the h264/MP4 videos are black and only play sound. I've reported the problem here also https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1049703
Still replicable on latest nightly (40.0a1) and Firefox 37.0.
I'm having the same problem on my Samsung S7580 (Broadcom chipset, like i9060).
Same problem with FF 38.0.5 on Sony Xperia L (C2105) with Android 4.2.2. Videos play with Chrome.
In addition, changing 'media.mediasource.enabled' value to 'true' doesn't solve the problem for youtube videos.
After four months It's still unresolved for MP4 based videos (Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo/ Broadcom SoC). VP9 and flash works fine. Tested on Nightly 41.0A1 27 June
Finally resolved. Just got installed something which actually works, i.e. Chrome on all my devices.
This is an OLD bug. Since media playback was heavily re-written and there is no similar bug reported for recent releases, I'll close this as fixed for now.
