The Quicktime plugin only screws up in the latest Mozilla 9.6+ builds. Imbedded
movies play fine using the release Netscape for OS X and MSIE 5.1., but return
an error "software needed to play this Quicktime movie not avialable on the
server" when accessed from Mozilla. Using the latest Quicktime 5 Pro and Mac OS
X 10.1.1 build 5M28, Power Mac G4 PCI.
Joseph, what Build ID are you using?

The Mozilla build ID is 2001120704.
Joseph, it's not obvious which QuickTime movie at CNN.com you attempted to view. Can you
provide more information?

The error was with every Quicktime file I attempted to play. Got a broken icon
and the Quicktime server error "files needed to play this movie are not
available on the server". Same movies play fine from Netscape 6.2 and 6.2.1 for
OS X, MSIE 5.1 for OS X and always played fine from earlier Mozilla builds.
Quicktime 5 pro with all the latest updates.

This problem persists in the latest builds for Mac OS X (i.e., 0.9.7).
Without the ability to use quicktime, the Mozilla browser loses out
to IE, Opera, and Omniweb.
Accessing the QT movie at
[http://starwars.apple.com/ep2/clone_war/clonewar_md.html] results in nominal
plug-in performance using FizzillaCFM/2002041712 (RC1). Resolving WorksForMe.
Joseph, if you can still reproduce this using a current build, please feel free
to reopen, but be sure to provide the exact URL you're accessing.
