tested on 2001-11-26-17.6.2.1 OS = Linux 7.1JA 1. Launch Navigator 2. Once dispay home page, switch to the above page 3 You may have garbled page(character coding may still indicats default ISO-8859-1) 4. Select View/Page Source 5. Select View/Character Coding/Japanese(Shift-Jis) in Source for: window 6. Doesn't rewrite page using specified Japanese(Shift-Jis),no matter with chosen character coding
This is sounds like a dup of bug 104474 which has been fixed in trunk build last month. And I don't see it on recently trunk build.

I can not reproduce this on recent trunk, and in fact, this page is a EUC-JP not Shift-JIS page.

try the trunk and switch to EUC-JP. it work on both window and linux trunk. mark it as workforme
