Steps to reproduce:
Updated to 36.0.1 and spell checker in Google mail nolonger funcions.
Checked setting and spell checker is enabled.
Actual results:
ignores typo's
Expected results:
highlight errors.

Right-click the text box where you type your message. Is “Check Spelling” enabled in the menu that pops up?
If yes, do you have the same problem when you start Firefox in a brand new profile?

The spell checker settings had always transferred to new versions, but in this case hadn't.
I did manage to find the settings and re-enable and all went well, they have also remained enabled with subsequent updates.
