User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0 Build ID: 20150305021524 Steps to reproduce: Ctrl+Shift+A or 'File > Add attachment', click column header to sort by Name/Date/Date Modified/Size etc. Actual results: No sorting occurs. Just the default A-Z ascending order. Expected results: Sort by the relevant header. Worked in previous versions so just flagging this now. This is Thunderbird 31.5.0 on Windows 7 (release update channel).
That dialogue is provided by the Operating system (win7). If there's anything broken (which I doubt), it's a bug in Windows. I tested on Win8.1 and everything's fine there. You should verify the actual details of the files at hand, perhaps your sorting expectations did not match the actual files.
