Right now I get one notification of any new emails across all accounts. What that means is I have to and switch accounts if the one I wanted isn't the one that's opened by default when I go to the Email app from the notification. (What's the logic in determining which is opened, anyways?)

Instead, a notification should be sent for each account, which allows me to go to the account directly.
The logic as implemented is supposed to already be doing what you request. It's possible we've had some bugs or regressions here. (We've cleaned up some stuff on trunk recently and there's a lot of async stuff going on, so it wouldn't be insane for there to be a subtle async ordering fight.)

Can you please indicate:
- The version of gaia you're using. (Hopefully trunk! Fingers crossed.)
- Account types and account sync intervals.

Ideally it would also be nice to have a logcat covering the time range of a periodic sync that generates notifications through you tapping on the notification and things not working correctly.

User error maybe. I realized I had automatic checking disabled for one of my accounts. I'll reopen if I can reproduce w/ both accounts automatically checking for new messages.

Sorry for the false alarm!
