The problems are less apparent after the images are cached, so you may need to force-reload the pages (CMD+SHIFT+R) each time you want to reproduce the problems.

Adding my comment to this bug, I experience this on other sites as well that use many in-line images. It seems that the sites most affected are ones whose images have a "hover-over" feature that displays a larger resolution image automatically when mousing over the image. However, the issue also arises within more robust sites like Outlook Online and displaying PowerPoint presentations within the message preview box.
