From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.6) Gecko/20011120 BuildID: 2001112011 During (or at the end of) running the speed test, Mozilla crashed to MacsBug. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to the URL 2.Click the "test" button 3.Before the test is complete -- crash
Build 2001112011 on Mac OS 9.2.2, I ran the speed test, and the test completed successfully. I switched browser windows to this bug report, began typing a "works for me" comment, then switched back to the speedtest.net window and the browser immediately crashed. I don't have MacsBug installed so it just sent me to the Finder.
wfm using build 2001120821 on Linux + JRE 1.3.1. What Java plug-in version do you use ? If it's <1.3.1, you may try 1.3.1 or better to see if problem is then fixed.

WorksForMe using Mac/2001112011 (0.9.6).
got mail from reporter about Java plug-in: " Latest I can find for Mac is 1.0b2; got it from the Mozilla site. Although that was the version of the one I already had, I D/Ld the new one. Still crashes. If you know where I can get a later version for Mac, I'll try it" Do you get a Talkback window ? If so, can you post Talkback ID here ?
No; didn't get a talkback window. What do I need to do to enable it? I did provide a StdLog of the crash.

Speedtest.net is refusing connection for me...
It seems it is now http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/index.html. Also, it seems they are not using an applet anymore. So, maybe this bug is invalid?
No testcase, propose to mark INVALID unless the StdLog trace can help. Might be related: bug 95835.
URL updated. Worksforme Build ID: 2002042510 (0.9.9+) trunk Windows 98. Reporter could you please install 0.9.9 and Sun Java JRE 1.4 and try it again?
Best I can tell, there's not a port of Sun JRE 1.4 to the Mac (which is all I use). Still, the test now WORKSFORME; build ID 2002041711.
Cool! Thanks. Resolving as worksforme.
