RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1354636

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0
Build ID: 20150305021524

Steps to reproduce:

So this is the situation:
We have a mailing list and we get alot emails from persons, who are not in the list.
When I want to reply to the person asking, the buttons in Thunderbird are useless.

• Reply: wants to send the email to the mailing list
• Reply list: well, of course it wants to send the email to the mailing list
• Reply all: this f*cked up, still only the takes the email adress of the mailing list over to the compose message window.

Expected results:

"Reply all" should work like how it is called. Reply ALL.
In this situation: take the adress from the mailing list AND also from the person who has originaly send the email.
If there is more than one address in the email headers, then
  Reply to All
or Ctrl+Shift+R ill send the message to all in the email header.

If it is not doing this, then either the addresses are not in the mail header, or an addon is interfering.
Does it happen in safe mode?

Yes, it also happens in Safe Mode.
The adress must be in the header, otherwise Thunderbird could not show the original sender, could it?

Reply-To munging? (In that case, fix your mailing list software).
Check the message source (Ctrl + U). I'm thinking the mailing list sets a "Reply-To" header, so that's what you're getting when you reply.
Yes, you're right. "Reply-To" is set to the mailing list.
But still: Even in this case Thunderbirds "Reply all" should work how it is expected. Meaning: If replied to all TB should take the "Reply-To", but also the "From" address.
Otherwise there is no reason for having a "Reply All" button if just a simple header is needed to make it useless. Can we please avoid this bad UX?

It would even patch this - but sadly I have no experience on TB...

The "Reply all" complaints go as duplicates of bug 1354636.

Sorry but it should definitely not reply to both Reply-To and From.
