From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows 98) BuildID: 2001050515 The problem is with "Devnagri" sript in unicode. While displaying the DEVANAGARI VOWEL SIGN I (093F) as mentioned by the unicode the sign should stand left to the consonant, it is being applied. The heading of the page "What is unicode in Hindi" at http://www.unicode.org/unicode/standard/translations/hindi.html itself is shown wrong by Mozilla. When I entered &#x093F in the "html source" inside composer and looked back in the "Normal" the character was shown, however the cursor position was to left of the character which should be to the right. This is the possible problem why character DEVANAGARI VOWEL SIGN I (093F) is shown after the character it is applied. The correct word is displayed by Internet Explorer (ver 5.50.4134.0600IC) under win98. Even test pango shows correct word under linux. The problem in Mozilla is seen on 0.9 under win98 and Linux. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.visit http://www.unicode.org/unicode/standard/translations/hindi.html 2. see the heading 3. Actual Results: Character DEVANAGARI VOWEL SIGN I (093F) shown after the consonant Expected Results: character DEVANAGARI VOWEL SIGN I (093F) should be shown before consonant

we have not support devanagari on Window and Linux yet. It should be fine on Mac. Win2K and XP should be fine too.

IMHO This is a dup of bug 166520
I, on the other hand, think this is a dup of bug 202351.
what a hack. I have not touch mozilla code for 2 years. I didn't read these bugs for 2 years. And they are still there. Just close them as won't fix to clean up.

This is WONTFIX as filed against Windows 98, since that is no longer a supported OS, but Devanagari works correctly on trunk on supported versions of Windows.
