summary sez it all. found using 2001.12.10.0x comm bits on linux rh7.2, mac 10.1.1, winnt. 1. open a file in the editor and make some changes. 2. click the Save button in the toolbar. expected: the button should go from active to greyed out once the page is saved. actual results: the button remains active in appearance. tested using the modern theme. not sure if this is an issue with the classic theme, or if it occurs in mail compose...

i guess i wasn't paying attention, but i noticed that the *only* time i was able to save was when i was prompted to do so when closing the editor window or browsing the page. fwiw, i had start the app on linux at the command line: "./netscape -editor" gonna check this out on the other platforms...

okay, this is definitely a problem on linux and mac os x. also, i retract my statement [original comment] about this being broken on win32 --all seems fine on my winNT build. odd that unix and mac are affected.
ah, this is prolly due to kathy's checkin at 7:21am today, since my win32 build was from 2001.12.10.06...so, i imagine this would be xp, even tho' i was initially not paying attention. ;)

clarification of when this fails: * using the menu item, File > Save * using the keyboard shortcut, accel+S * clicking the Save toolbar button
