This is a low priority bug I know, but I think the Outlook Express behaviour
where instead of first downloading all the headers, then downloading all the
messages it simply displays the headers as they come down from the mail/news
server is much better. It means you can choose which messages to read as they
come down, and you can delete spam without downloading it on IMAP

Sorry if this is a dupe.
cc'ing bienvenu in case I'm missing something here. We do just download headers
from IMAP. For POP we have to download everything. In addition, David recently
changed it so that we display headers before all headers have been downloaded.

Are you referring to displaying the current list of headers and then downloading
the new ones in the background while allowing the user to read the current
messages in the thread pane?

the reporter should indicate which version of mozilla he is running, so that we
can know if it's already been fixed.

This sounds like what I was referring to. So basically I can see the headers
appear in the Inbox as they download, then disappear as they're filtered while
still being able to read already downloaded messages.
