I don't know if this is a dupe or not, but I couldn't find one. 201111603 build: "The page you are trying to view contains POSTDATA that has expired from cache. If you resend the data, any action the form carried out (such as a search or online purchase) will be repeated. To resend the data, click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel." I get that message sometimes when I click back, and when I hit cancel and back again, the message comes up again. It should send me two pages back the seoond time I hit cancel when the form data expires.

That dialog will show up when you are trying to go back to a page that was a result of a post operation (like search submit or a purchase on a ecommerce site). *and* the postdata has expired from cache. Clicking cancel on that dialog, will not take you back without the postdata. It simply cancels the back operation and the browser is pretty much where it was before the back was clicked. So, if you don't want to repost the data to the server (which could mean, redoing the search or re-purchasing a product), You should press cancel on that dialog and probably use the go menu to skip that page.

mass-verifying Duplicate bugs which haven't changed since 2001.12.31. set your search string in mail to "CitizenGKar" to filter out these messages.

REOPEN: I don't know why that was a dupe of the other POSTDATA error bugs.

This is the oldest unconfirmed bug. Please try Mozilla 1.7 RC1. Does the problem still occur?

Duh. How hard would it be for someone to test and see if it occurs? Go find a form that generates this message and see if cancel will allow you to go back. YES! THIS OCCURS IN FIREFOX 0.92 Can the developers please look at: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=99885&postdays=0&postorder=asc&postsperpage=15&start=15 and implement disabling cache expiration as an option? This is related, but prob not the same issue. On hotmail.com, when I type an email message, send it, then click back, the email compose form becomes empty. Shouldn't it contain the text I typed for the message body?

This is the necessary behavior. It is possible to skip the page which requires re-posting by using the back button menu and selecting any page earlier in history.
