Steps to reproduce:
With only a 6 tabs open, all with nothing but a Wikipedia page or a news article (no Facebook, Streaming video, or other known memory hogs) I am using 1.2 gigs of ram in FFDE x64.

Please try something from https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance#Memory_profiling_and_leak_detection_tools
Also please check if it happens with Nightly: https://nightly.mozilla.org/
