+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1138354 +++

When the authentication is required, the browser app prompts "The website XXX requires you to sign in." no matter the request is from target web server or proxy server.

Bug 1138354 adds a new 'detail.isProxy' property of the 'mozbrowserusernameandpasswordrequired' event, so the browser app can base on it to display more accurate wording for proxy authentication prompt.
