Details

Inline history has an odd behavior that it shows the history of how most fields in a bug were set, *unless* those fields were set when the bug was filed. This can be confusing; if you're scanning the inline history to see where things come from, determining that they were set when the bug was filed can be determined only by scanning the entire rest of the history and determining, by a process of elimination, that it was set when the bug was filed. For some fields, like "See Also" URLs, it might make them considerably less apparent since those fields are more visible through the inline history than they are in the primary bug state. Instead, when fields that inline history shows changes for were set to non-default values when the bug was filed, those fields ought to be shown in comment 0. For example, in bug 1148694, comment 0 should have inline history annotations for Product, Component, Platform, OS, and the two See Also URLs. (Perhaps also the initial assignee, although it (and initial QA contact if non-empty) could be hidden if they are the defaults for the Product/Component.)
Priority: -- → P5

The InlineHistory extension is used only for the legacy bug page that will be disabled in Bugzilla 6.0.
