1148773 - "multimessageview" not showing most recent messages when there are more than 100 in the current view

The multimessageview (chrome://messenger/content/multimessageview.xhtml) is limited to 100 messages by default.

If there are more than 100 messages only the first 100 messages are shown.

Since the messages in multimessageview are ordered oldest to newest (from top to bottom), the most recent messages are therefore omitted.

This should be resolved somehow. Two things come to mind:
1) Show the 100 newest messages in a group and omit older messages
2) Sort the list from newest to oldest (from top to bottom).
   Then always the most recent 100 messages are shown.
   Also the newest message is always on top, which is probably a nice bonus,
   too (currently one always has to scroll to the newest message).

I'd prefer 2) (which probably needs to fix 1) on the way anyway)
