I often have paused Youtube videos, and occasionally, when I resize the windows, those videos suddenly resume playing, which is unintended and disturbing.

This has happened to me many times. Not every time, but often enough to prompt me to report this. This has been happening for a long time (months, for sure).

I don't know if this is limited to Youtube videos.

Currently using 39.0a1 (2015-03-28)
Still happens. Using 41.0a1 (2015-05-15) now.
Have you checked that this isn't youtube itself doing this based on a resize event it gets?

How can I check that? I also have this problem.

Debug Youtube's scripts. Without a reliable way to reproduce this that will likely be quite difficult to do (and the same would go for trying to figure out what's causing this if it is a Firefox problem - we'd need reliable steps to reproduce).

Hi Roman,

I have tested this issue on the latest Firefox (45.0) release, latest Nightly (48.0a1 - Build ID: 20160315030230) build and I could not reproduce it. I have tried this a few times, but the video does not resume when re-sizing the window. I have tested this in Windows 8 x64 and windows 7 x64.

Is this still reproducible on your end ? If yes, can you please retest this this using latest Firefox release and latest Nightly build (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and report back the results ? When doing this, please use a new clean Firefox profile, maybe even safe mode, to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause (https://goo.gl/PNe90E).

Thanks,
Cosmin.

Considering the fact that I cannot reproduce this and that the reporter has not answered to Gijs and my request until now, I will mark this as Resolved-Worksforme.
If anyone can still reproduce it, feel free to reopen the issue and provide more information.

Thanks,
Cosmin.

Does it happen on a clean profile? ( https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles )

What do you consider to be a "clean" profile? Can I reinstall all of my addons and import all of my bookmarks and browsing history?

No, I suspect that it's potentially related to the add-ons and/or settings on your main profile. You can create a test profile without throwing away your 'main' profile, and delete it again when you've tested this. Presumably if you see this all the time, you can create the profile, watch a few videos, and then either it happens or it doesn't happen, no?

If this reproduces only intermittently, and you need to run with the profile for a bit longer, then importing these would be fine. It's mostly the add-ons and settings (and potentially youtube cookies) that I suspect are related.
It happens only intermittently. There are a few addons I absolutely can't live without, for example vimperator and tab tree. It would be painful to browse the web without these, even just for a few days.

In a previous post you said:

I think that's what's happening. Not sure why it only happens to a few users, though.
