Steps to reproduce:
I have another account which I use primarily, but it has an old email address on it. I'd like to change its email address to the one on this account, which is an accidental duplicate. This account has no activity, so I don't think I need a merge. Please just delete this account.

Thanks David, but I want to use that email on my real account, and it still says “There is already an account with the login name ...” Does the old one need to be fully deleted?

Oh no no no! That was my real account!
Oh geez, I hope there's some way you can recover the p1h3r1e3d13@gmail.com account. That's my actual account, created a long time ago and with all of my history!
(I created this temp account to comment, since I'm guessing I now have one disabled account and one deleted account.)
