This is a meta ticket tracking either adding a new home panel or adding sections to existing panels (Synced Tabs?) that shows:
1) tabs sent to directly to this device from other devices;
2) tabs sent from this device to other devices.
I think this could go a lot of ways. I lean towards small and really focused: in the Synced Tabs panel, show me the last 3 tabs sent to this device if they're less than 3 days old. (And don't show 2) at all.) But it could also be much more expansive -- give me a huge history of my sent and received tabs -- and we could finally build a messaging interface into the product \o/
This needs UX love (NI to antlam) and some consideration of how it interacts with Send Tab (mcomella) and Tab Queues (mhaigh).

I wonder if we shouldn't try to expand the usability of numerous tabs panels (particularly on phone) before moving into this - our number of panels is growing and it could be hard for users to access these efficiently (or even discover them - especially when we arbitrarily add new panels in new versions, we really need a "What's new!" screen).

Seems easy enough to add some hooks.

...email client? ;)

I agree, there might be a need to see some sort of persistent notification/ indication that "I've received some tabs" or "I've just sent some tabs". But, it feels to me like a "panel" may be overkill.
At first glance, it seems like the best place to put these "tabs" would be in the Synced Tabs panel. But if our "Send tab to other devices" works as it should, wouldn't said tab already be in there? under one of the "devices".
I wonder how bug 1145434 plus the current "Tabs received" notifications will help/not help this UX. Will think about this more.

It's possible the user can send the tab, and then close the tab on the sending device so it won't appear in the Synced Tabs panel.
However, if we were to try adding an indication about these tabs to the Synced Tabs panel, if it's open, we can mark the tab row somehow and if it's not, we could show it anyway, and somehow mark that it's not a currently open tab.

In terms of Tab Queue - we currently don't expose an interface of what tabs are/have been queued - we opt simply to open the tabs once fennec next launches.
There's an argument here that queued tabs should be part of synced tabs, but we're not there yet.

The meta keyword is there, the bug doesn't depend on other bugs and there is no activity for 12 months.
:st3fan, maybe it's time to close this bug?
