I think people want to add a site to the homescreen and use it like an app from then on. No urlbar, icon/title should show up correctly in app switcher, and links to other domains should go to the "real" browser.
If I understand bug 1126479 comment 3 correctly that W3C manifest should make the difference. And also, it is most likely a duplicate of 1212648
