User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:37.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/37.0
Build ID: 20150328223854

Steps to reproduce:

By default, all the messages come into inbox.

Actual results:

By default, all the messages come into inbox.
For filtering the friends to others, I have to add new filter for each friend.

Expected results:

It should be nice if we could use the contacts bookmarks for automatic filter the friends to other.

For example : in contacts bookmarks, a new option as "allowed" to be checked.
If checked, the messages are automatically stored in inbox by default, else in a folder as "not authentified" (or something like that).

A new person send me a message, by default, he is in that "not authentified" folder. If this guy is a real contact, I check him in the contact bookmarks and Thunderbird filter all new messages from him into inbox.
Hi,

If I understood what you meant, you can already do that:

Create a new filter through Menu > Message filters > Message filters > New
Change the first select from "Subject" to "From", then the second select from "Contains" to "isn't in my address book"
.
At the bottom choose the folder in which you want to redirect those emails.
You're done.

Feel free to reopen under the right component in Thunderbird product if I misunderstood.
