Confirmed on Firefox 36.0.1 for Linux, Firefox Nightly for Linux (40.0a1) and Firefox OS 2.x.

User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0 Build ID 20151227030239 Reproducible on Nightly 46. After the input area is filled, the caret disappears. However, when input is not yet full the caret is visible.
