>>Project/Request Title:
Foxfooding program - provide new reference phones to Internal Moz employees
>>Project Overview:
Foxfooding program is a project to provide internal Mozilla employees new high-end reference phone to use as their daily personal and development mobile device.
We want to give people their own powerful phones to make it their own. Building phones for experts.
We are distributing 500 Sony Z3 compact phones (to Mozilla internal) in the first round and 1000 phones (Mozilla and community).
>> Creative Help Needed:
Copy: Yes
Design: Yes
Video: No
Other: No
>>Creative Specs:
Final deliverable would be high quality format poster in matte finish in 2 sizes: 18x24 and 22x28
>>CTA and Design:
The visual I was thinking would be like the image shown in the link provided below for the Nokia phone showing a hand (palm up) with a phone on it surrounded by greenery. We could go with this same design theme; a hand holding a Sony Z3 Compact phone and the firefox logo (enlarged behide the phone). The firefox logo would be similar to the image show on the current "Who own's the internet poster" but scaled proportionally with the phone and hand.
The verbiage at the top of the poster is similar to the Nokia poster show below. We would use "Mozilla...presents new Foxfooding phone!"
I have also provided a link on phone advertisement with nature theme for reference. The one I like the most is titled "Mobile Advertisement: Nokia G14" http://designrshub.com/2012/07/mobile-advertisements-inspired-by-nature.html
>>Expected Launch Date:
2015-05-04
>>Mozilla Goal:
Entire Mozilla employee and community
>>Mozilla Creative Collective:
No

Jean,
Thanks for submitting this. To start, I have a couple of follow-up questions:
- Do you have the image of the phone that you can provide?
- Do you know how much time will be needed for printing these? I want to confirm that we will be able to get design to you in a time frame that works for both you and us.
Thanks!

Lisa Gray confirmed that she can outsource printing and would need 5 business day. Would you be able to get design done by either earliest Friday April 24 or Monday April 27. I can confirm the date with Lisa and get back to you.

There was an email thread about coming up with a name for this program, but there hasn't been much activity on the etherpad recently:
https://etherpad.mozilla.org/lightsaber-names
We'll need the name before we can create the poster, so I want to make sure I understand what the process for that will be.

Deciding on the program name will need a little more time but the poster is strictly for a sub program on the new dogfooding phones. Giving out the Sony Z3C devices is replacing the Flames devices so we are calling this "Foxfooding" program. We should just use this on the poster without the Lighsaber program name.

Jennifer, I just heard from Lisa. She would need the design by April 20 to print the poster and have them pin up in the 5 Moz locations(Paris, Taipei, Toronto, MTV & SF). Can you still do this for April 20?

My understanding was that the name was supposed to be for the device as well as for the program.
I also find "foxfooding" a bit of an awkward name. Could we consider something else?

We got sign off on using Foxfooding but I can look into this. I don't want to delay get the artwork done. Can you still continue with the design concept and hold off on the name and use a placeholder for now?

Hi Jean,
Can you provide another (one or more) image of the z3 device as a high resolution file? The JPG attached is only 1240x840 pixels at 72dpi, which isn't big enough to render clearly when printed.
A high-resolution source file (layered) on a transparent background would be ideal. Thanks!

Hi Jean,
I wanted to let you know that designs are not going to be ready tomorrow due to some work needed for the Growth Campaign. I will have a better idea of when you can expect to see designs tomorrow. Thanks!

Hello Jennifer,
Thanks for the update. Sure, there is a bit of a buffer if you need more time.

Hello Lee,
The program name is now call "Spark". If you could use in the poster title "Mozilla presents..Firefox Spark" or something to that effort. Ignite is now used for a bigger Firefox initiative but Spark is the program where we are replacing the Flame reference device along with a new dogfooding app.
thanks!

I don't think we should use "Firefox Spark" together like that so it doesn't sound like a new brand. It should also be clear that this is related to Firefox OS. Maybe we don't need to mention Mozilla here and just make it something coming from Firefox OS.

Hi Jean,
I wanted to check in to see if the need for this is moving if the program is also being pushed out to June. Any update? Thanks!

Hello Jennifer,
I just returned from PTO today. Yes, I found out that the 400 phone distribution has been targeted for Whistler. We'll still need poster for this. Hope this helps!

I had a creative session with Lee today and we agreed to get the finalize poster completed by May 22 in order to have poster printed and ready to ship to Whistler by June 5 for display.

Another update for Lee on sizing.. I would like to print out the poster into the one size format at 24x36 and not the two smaller sizes that I had originally requested.

Do you have update? Can you provide a draft so I can review?

I just heard from CBeard and he decided not to have poster displayed at Whistler. He changed his mind and thinks the poster is going to be confusing when he doesn't want to use the name Spark anymore. Sorry to convey this bad news when the artwork is fantastic :(

Thanks for the update. I'll resolve this as WONTFIX for now and we can reopen later if necessary.
Lee, please attach your latest design for safe keeping.
