We'd like to switch to using pylibmc for memcached (bug 1152344) as it's much faster and can use the binary protocol. Since it's a thin Python wrapper around libmemcached we need it installed on the admin node in order for pylibmc to install and compile.

And also the web server nodes, so they can run it too.

Good catch :atoll. I thought it would statically compile the c-extension, but should have realized it wouldn't. Would it be easier to look into having it statically compile so we don't have to install the lib everywhere? Or is it pretty simple to just install it everywhere?
