Steps to reproduce:

Opened several tabs, then tried to close them using the X.


Actual results:

Two empty tabs remain. Clicking X on either of them will not close them.

If I open yet another tab, the same thing repeats if I attempt to close that one. Eventually, two empty tabs remain, where there should be just one.

This is intermittent, so it takes a while to replicate.


Expected results:

Only one tab should remain.

Restarting FF is the workaround here. The new instance comes up with two empty tabs again, but the second one (either) can be closed.

I had this problem several times. It does not happen everytime, but in some cases for unknown reasons FF will leave two empty tabs that cannot be closed.

I believe that this problem first occurred starting at version 36.0.

 - Nightly 46.0a1 - Build ID  20160111030207, User Agent  Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0
 - Released FF Version  43.0.4 - Build ID  20160105164030, User Agent  Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0
