Hey Guys, So relengweb is often spewing cronmail like: file has vanished: "/mnt/netapp/relengweb/jacuzzi-allocator/v1/machines/.bld-linux64-spot-010.IXceRB" rsync warning: some files vanished before they could be transferred (code 24) at main.c(1052) [sender=3.0.9] This is a warning we can ignore, and I could of course write a wrapper to ignore it, *however* in rsync 3.1.1 there is a wrapper script to make that easy for me. (c.f. http://serverfault.com/questions/577933/rsnapshot-warning-some-files-and-or-directories-in-vanished-during-rsync-ope) On relengwebadm we already have 3.1.1 available (and it does not pull in any additional packages or package upgrades!) Available Packages Name : rsync Arch : x86_64 Version : 3.1.1 Release : 1.el6.rfx Size : 404 k Repo : rpmforge-extras Summary : Program for synchronizing files over a network URL : http://rsync.samba.org/ License : GPL Description : Rsync uses a reliable algorithm to bring remote and host files into : sync very quickly. Rsync is fast because it just sends the differences : in the files over the network instead of sending the complete : files. Rsync is often used as a very powerful mirroring process or : just as a more capable replacement for the rcp command. A technical : report which describes the rsync algorithm is included in this : package.
