Details

When I'm composing e-mail messages in formatted mode, typically when I do a big cut to remove some quoted material from a message I'm replying to, sometimes (maybe one time in 20) a chunk of the text remaining in the compose window after the cut will go invisible: it's still there, and if I scroll down and up again (or cover the window with another and then reveal it again) to hide and reshow the text, it gets redrawn, but until I do that it can't be seen. It looks like some kind of repaint problem: possibly the code hasn't figured out that the text needs to be repainted until I do something to force it to do so. Since the mailer is about the only place I sue the HTML composer, I don't know if this is a general problem with the HTML composer, or is specific to its use in mail. I use the mailer on both Mac and Windows - I think this problem occurs on both, but I haven't kept careful track, and it might be only on Mac or only on Windows. I'll keep an eye on it, and next time it happens I'll update this bug with better platform information.

Roger, this was fixed...you must be using an old build.. can you upgrade to soemthing newer? thanks...
I'm using Netscape 6.2, i.e. the current commercial release, specifically: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20011019 Netscape6/6.2 (though I've also seen the same problem on Mac with 6.2, and I seem to recall seeing it with 6.1 as well). I'm glad to be told that this bug is fixed in Mozilla, but I don't normally run development builds, so I guess I'll have to wait for 6.3 or 6.5 or whatever the next release gets called. Possibly this bug is a duplicate of some other bug (that is itself presumably now FIXED), and should be marked as such?
As sujay pointed out this is fixed on the TRUNK. 6.2 is based on the MOZILLA_0_9_4_BRANCH which does not have the fix for bug 97674. Marking as a dup of 97674. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 97674 ***
