Firebug still changes the default Firefox Developer Edition theme. But, when the default theme button is pressed, the theme does not change back to that of the Firefox Developer Edition theme.
Brian, do you know more about this?

Hi, when you say 'changes the default Firefox Developer Edition theme' do you mean that the Developer Edition theme unapplies when you install Firebug? I found a couple of relevant bugs here: https://github.com/firebug/firebug.next/issues/337 and here: https://github.com/firebug/firebug.next/issues/226. If not, could you explain a little bit more what you mean by this?

We have gotten rid of that button in Nightly (40) and instead are using a normal lightweight theme to do the Developer Edition styling. If possible, could you test in a Nightly build using a new profile and see if this is still a problem? You can apply the Dev Edition theme in Nightly by opening the Addons Manager and applying the Dev Edition theme in the appearance section.

Yes, I mean exactly that.

I could see about testing Firefox Dev Edition 40, of course.
Summary: Firebug still changes the default Firefox Developer Edition theme → Firebug theme changes the Developer Edition theme to the light one
The Firebug theme was removed in Bug 1378108, so I am marking this report as WONTFIX.
