Problems resuming video playback on youtube without Flash

Details

Play a youtube video that's more than a couple of minutes long, and pause it.
Wait a few hours and resume playback.
Actual behaviour:
Playback fails and youtube requests to use Flash.
Reloading the page, HTML5 video is restored, but the video then plays again from the beginning.
Expected behaviour: Playback continues without Flash.
It's not clear to me whether this is a Firefox bug or an issue specific to youtube that makes it fall back to Flash after some timeout.
