[this bug should go to the kitsune component not the production site management component, but i couldn't find it] https://support.mozilla.org/ru/contributors/kb-overview?product=firefox-os first line is green, and the article it links to -- https://support.mozilla.org/ru/kb/poluchit-podderzhku-soobshestva -- has a russian translation, but the title is shown in english for some reason i think this is wrong, it should be russian title in the kb overview page

Hi Svetlana, Thank you for reporting this issue. I've renamed it, since it applies to other locales as well, e.g.: https://support.mozilla.org/de/contributors/kb-overview https://support.mozilla.org/fr/contributors/kb-overview PS. thanks for the bug updates, satdav!
Summary: Website shows wrong language title on ru/contributors/kb-overview → Article titles are showing in EN on https://support.mozilla.org/[locale]/contributors/kb-overview

I think its a technical issue! From the UI I think it should not be possible to go this link. Also, I think this page should not be load for other locals. The page you are referring its a Knowledge Base dashboard. Not localization Dashboard Knowledge Base dashboard for English: https://support.mozilla.org/contributors Localization Dashboard for all locals: https://support.mozilla.org/localization I think this bug should refer that if anyone going from other locals except English, it should redirect to Localization dashboard rather than KB Dashboard. What do you think Kadir?

@Safwan - Kadir is out for the next 2 weeks, so I think we can discuss this and decide on the way to address this while he's away. I think the issue stems from the page https://support.mozilla.org/bn-bd/localization also showing the "English" link right under the product selector box, which leads to https://support.mozilla.org/bn-BD/contributors - a dashboard which shows en-US article information including additional status columns like Needs Update, Stale, Expiry Date, which are specific to en-US. From there, you can also use the product selector and get into pages like the one that Svetlana mentioned in the original request. I personally think that we could hide the "English" link for all https://support.mozilla.org/localization and that could solve the problem of people accessing this type of information by mistake.

I've just spoken to Joni and we can remove the "English" link from under the product selector box for pages that are shown in locales other than en-US.

Michal, if you're still interested in this, would you mind prioritizing it on the backlog?

Hi. So what should be the correct behavior? IMO the contributors dashboard is an equivalent for en-US for what other locales have localization dashboard. Should we remove the English link and/or redirect the contributors dashboard to the localization dashboard?

Hi Michal, Thanks for keeping the fire burning under this one. 1. The English link can be removed from all localization dashboards. 2. Redirecting the contributors dashboard is not something we need to have in place right now, and it can be reconsidered later. As long as we clearly mention what is what to contributors, the confusion should be avoidable - as long as you are in your locale, support.mozilla.org/localization will lead you to your locale's dashboard.

(In reply to vesper from comment #10) > Hi Michal, > > Thanks for keeping the fire burning under this one. > > 1. It was added to go to the English Dashboard and from the workflow its needed.

In my conversations with different localizers around SUMO I also never heard of anyone using this link, so removing it could be an option. Still, it's not really connected to the original issue, so we can drop it from this discussion. For more clarity: I'm talking about the "English" link next to your locale's name on the main localization dashboard for any locale other than en-US.

Before updating the Pull request: - the locale name, which the dashboard belongs to, does not work as a link, it's text only - the locale should be recognizable by the UI language and the tag ([pl], [cs], ...) in the dashboard headline So if the locale name should not be removed, what about putting it whole in the dashboard headline? Having somewhere on the site "Language: xyz" without any context or action available can be confusing. I already hear "What is it doing here?".

Just to confirm, this would change [cs][Všechny produkty] Nástěnka lokalizace to Čeština [cs][Všechny produkty] Nástěnka lokalizace yes?

I meant the tag and locale name are duplicate information, so putting the name in headline we could remove the tag, or not? Something like "[All products] {{lang}} localization dasbhoard".

I would leave the tag for clarity. Alternatively, format the locale information like this: "Spanish () (es)" - this may be a bit too much for one line, so maybe adding an extra line below for something like: Panel de localización de [Todos los productos] Español (es) (Spanish)

That seems feasible - moving the locale info on a separate line right below the <h1> + adjusting the stylesheets. Putting into my calendar for the upcoming weekend.

@Mikk: thank you for that, LGTM @Giorgios: thank you for keeping SUMO running! Yes, let's merge this and hope nothing explodes ;-)
