When I try to use the "Advanced Search" on Google, the field "Language Return pages written in" field always is set automatically to "Arabic". Even if I select the drop down menu and select "any language", the page is automatically reloaded and it again is set to "Arabic. This is Debian Mozilla 0.9.6-8.
Can't confirm on linux build 2001121321. Even changed the preferred language to arabic without success. Is there a cookie set by google which google doesn't reset or something like this? Could you provide detailed steps to come to get the effect you're seeing? Thank's for testing mozilla.
err, this might be a dup of bug 97606, which was fixed sometime ago. try going to Edit -> Preferences -> Navigator -> Languages and make sure, 'Default character coding' is set to 'Western (ISO-8859-1)'. and make sure you haven't selected some arabic language in the box above. before going back to google, delete your cookies, edit -> prefs -> privacy & security -> cookies -> view stored cookies and 'remove all'.
The suggestion by Waheed Islam fixed the problem. After I had removed all cookies the problematic behavior went away. Thanks for this quick reaction. Stephan Muehlstrasser
