Steps to reproduce:
It would be a great idea if Thunderbird overrided Windows calendar in the taskbar to show Thunderbird's calendar instead. It could show the days of the month and you could click on one to open day view or click on the name of the month to open month view.
You could even links to the 3-5 most recent unread messages.
