STR:
1) Install Firefox 40.0a1 Russian 64-bit Linux night build (build id - 20150416030209, hg revision - https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/a35163f83d22)
2) Check for updates

Expected results: Partial update is downloaded and applied (870KB)

Actual results: Complete update is downloaded and applied (52MB)
Sorry for getting to this a bit late.
Does it still occur? If it's still an issue, it would be also great to get the console logs with "app.update.log" config set to "true".

Yes, it still occures. Though today's full update may be result of patch for Bug 1160845
I'll check if this issue will linger tomorrow. FWIW, this is today's console log:
