The scale transform sometimes draw glyphs that are too much distorted and it is also often disturbing when testing the MathVariants table support or testing math fonts (I recently had the issue again when testing the GNU Free Font). So I suggest to add a preference option to disable it so that users who find it ugly can disable it and this will help developers who want to do some testing.
