User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:37.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/37.0 Build ID: 20150402191859 Steps to reproduce: After viewing a few dozen or a hundred "large" images maybe 2000x2000 or bigger), most attempts to view a large image fail, producing the error message: The image "{URL}" cannot be displayed because it contains errors. Exiting with Alt F X and restarting means all the images display perfectly, until the bug appears again. Sample "large" image: http://www.theartblog.org/wp-content/uploaded/clone.jk_.sign_.cheryl.lt_.lo_.jpg 3648x2736 pixels It seems that the longer the browser has been up, the more likely this bug is. Actual results: First encountered this problem years ago. Last encountered this problem 04/09/2015. Expected results: Perfect image files should be displayed, and not reported as being corrupted.
Confirmed for Firefox 37.0.2
The attached image illustrates this problem. Seeing this in firefox 40.0.3 (win7) & 42.0a2 (Win8.1) (This one sound similar to bug 816019). Restart or starting with safe mode don't help.

The attached file doesn't appear to be a jpeg file. The file command and imagemagicks identify command both identify it as a tiff file. A fresh Firefox, nor Chrome display this file for me.
Hi mwrenton, I'm unable to reproduce the error in the following specifications: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:42.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0 Build: 20151029151421 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 Build: 20151124030553 See if the problem is fixed by installing a newer version of Firefox. If you still see the problem, provide additional URLs to images which cause this error.
