User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:37.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/37.0 Build ID: 20150403141925 Steps to reproduce: Go to HELP > Restart with Addons Disabled > select REFRESH Once Firefox restarts, did the following: go to this page and click on the "VIEW COMMENTS" link at the bottom of the page, which appears next to a large + (plus sign) but the comments never open: http://www.wired.com/2015/04/twitter-plane-chris-roberts-security-reasearch-cold-war/ Actual results: Nothing happens Expected results: user should be able to view comments after clicking on the link on the Wired page.
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0 Build ID 20151215030221 I tried to reproduce the issue, but it works for me. Could you check again with a new Nightly version (can be downloaded from https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and with a new profile? Please tell us if the problem is still there. Thank you.

Same has been happening to me on Yahoo, for some time. Occasional pages will have non-functioning javascript links. Here is an example, the comments don't work when in safe mode, v 43: https://gma.yahoo.com/man-accused-shooting-philly-cop-pledged-allegiance-isis-184753565--abc-news-topstories.html No idea how long this link will be valid.
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build ID 20151210084841 Tried this on the Yahoo link you provided, and I can easily view the comments when in Safe mode. Are there any specific steps to be taken into account? Can you find a pattern?
I've just checked the link again, still active, and when in safe mode the comments link is indeed unresponsive. I run no-script and adblock plus, but safe mode should remove them from the equation.
I still can't reproduce this. 1. What is your OS, Build Id, User agent (you can find the last two in about:support)? 2. Does this happen only in Safe mode? 3. What if you try with a new profile (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles)? 4. On comment 2 you said this is occasional. Could you find a pattern? 5. Can you reproduce on latest Nightly (https://nightly.mozilla.org/)? 6. What is the behavior on other browsers?

Closing this as incomplete due to lack of activity/response. If anyone can reproduce the issue on a current build fell free to reopen the bug.

Hi, sorry for slight delay. New profile works nicely. I've found that in my existing profile, deleting prefs.js AND permissions.sqlite, it works. These have to be deleted together to get it to work. This is on 41.0.1. I haven't tried any nightlies.
