What did you do?
================
1. Visit https://mdn.mozilla.org
What happened?
==============
I see the "This Connection is Untrusted" warning with the following text:
This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to mdn.mozilla.org, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
mdn.mozilla.org uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for the following names:
developer.mozilla.org, developer.mozilla.com, mozillademos.org, mdn.mozillademos.org
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
What should have happened?
==========================
Either the cert works and I can access MDN, or the cert works and I am redirected to developer.mozilla.org
Is there anything else we should know?

I filed bug 1157228 as the WebOps blocker bug. Note: last time we did this (bug 695084) we didn't buy an SSL cert just for the sub-domain redirect. So unless we have either a wildcard cert for *.mozilla.org or lots of inbound traffic to mdn.mozilla.org, we will probably only set up the redirect for http traffic.
