Ability to see the changelog/release notes when an application upgrade is proposed

When an application is updated on the Marketplace, the end-user device proposes the upgrade.
But the user has no easy way to see what this upgrade is about.
It would be better to give a way to read the release notes of this version. So that the users understands (and agrees) the changes that will be made on his device.

The Mozilla Markeplace already has a field for the release notes. The idea would simply to have a way to display it to the end-user, on his device.
NB : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=834462 is about doing something similar for system updates

The user would be able to understand what the upgrade will change for his application.
For example, if it's a security issue, it might be urgent to do the upgrade.
But, if it's only a minor update on a feature he does not use, the user might do the upgrade later

The user does not understand why he has to install updates.
And, after they are installed, he does not have any easy way to know what has changed (except if he finds the info on the Martkeplace)

Manifest update (at least for apps served from Marketplace) does indeed expose the "release_notes" field, so we could expose this, and re-use the dialogs I'm working on in the context of bug 834462 to show this information to the user.

UX triage: 

Ideally the user would be able to upgrade from Marketplace and then they could view the release notes there.

nice to have but not going to make into MVP for Nov 2. However, we add it to the backlog as a feature request for upcoming work.
