On the front page we have a tile encouraging people to download the Firefox Developer Edition. The URL doesn't have any parameters on it. Let's replace that URL with this one:

//www.mozilla.org/firefox/developer/?utm_source=developer.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=mdn-front-pg-promo


What problems would this solve?

Increase quality of analytics about MDN's referrals to Dev Edition downloads.

Users looking at URLs would see a longer URL

Invisible to users. Adds analytic data for product teams to help them make decisions.
